A Great Barr workshop. Directly-employed fitters. No subcontractors, no call centres — just a trade business that answers its own phone.
Store Fronts UK began in 2009 in a single industrial unit in Birmingham, with two aluminium fabricators and one delivery van. The first job was a bakery frontage on Soho Road in Birmingham. Fifteen years on, that bakery's still there and so are we — only now we operate out of Units 1-4 on Hems Crescent in Great Barr, with twelve people in the workshop, six fitters on the road, and we've installed store fronts from Cornwall to the Highlands.
What hasn't changed is the ethos. Every frontage is fabricated in-house. Every install is done by people on our payroll. Every snag gets dealt with by the same team that fitted it. It's a simple model, and it's why most of our work still comes through word-of-mouth from traders we looked after years ago.
Every frame, every shutter, every bit of glazing bar is cut and assembled in our workshop. We never ship store front jobs out to third-party fabricators.
The installers who turn up at your premises are on our payroll, PAYE, insured and trained. No agency crews, no sub-subcontractors.
Our quotes include everything: removal, disposal, fabrication, fit, making-good and waste certificates. What you sign is what you pay.
If a seal fails, a bead pops or a hinge works loose within a decade, we come back and fix it. No invoice, no arguments.
Store Fronts UK fits frontages for every kind of commercial premises, but most of our book comes from four sectors:
All our fitters are CSCS-carded. Our install operation is FENSA-registered. We're fully insured with £5m public liability and £10m employer's liability cover. We work to BS 6262 for glass, BS 8213 for windows and doorsets, and Document Q for PAS 24 security installations.
If you'd like a chat about a project — whether it's a single shop or a national rollout — drop us a line or ring the workshop on 0800 088 6248.
