These terms govern your use of the store-fronts.uk website and any quote, order or installation we carry out as a result. The website is operated by, and contracts are formed with, S&K Glazing Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 14088194), registered office Unit 1, Hems Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham, England, B43 5DG. VAT registration number GB 481 9808 49.
All online enquiries receive a free, no-obligation site survey. We issue a written fixed-price quote within 72 hours of that survey. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless we tell you otherwise in writing.
Figures shown on the website (e.g. "aluminium shopfronts from £2,800 + VAT") are indicative starting prices for a straightforward single retail unit. Your actual price depends on size, specification, access, lead time and site conditions.
You are a business customer entering a commercial installation contract — the 14-day consumer cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply. That said, we will refund deposits in full for any order cancelled before we have placed materials on order with the supplier, less any surveying time already incurred. Once materials are ordered or fabrication started, cancellation costs are at least the materials and labour committed to that point.
New shopfront installations carry a 10-year workmanship warranty, covering fixing, sealing, mitre joints and installation detailing. Component manufacturers' warranties pass through — typically 10 years on aluminium frames, 5 years on sealed glass units, 2–5 years on electrical and automatic-door operators. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, forced entry, misuse, lack of reasonable maintenance, or changes made by third parties after handover.
Standard aluminium frontages: survey to handover in 3–4 weeks. Hardwood timber or conservation-area projects: 6–8 weeks. Where planning permission is required, add 8–14 weeks for the local authority process. Lead times are estimates in good faith; they are not of the essence of the contract.
You are responsible for safe, legal and uninterrupted access to the installation site, for any landlord or managing-agent consents, for parking or loading permissions, and for making the site electrically safe where we're wiring automatic doors or shutters. Any waiting time caused by access problems that are not our fault is chargeable at our day rate.
Our total liability for any one order is limited to the price actually paid by you under that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited at law.
